Luxury Polmuz Model 1 maple 14x6.5 snare drum with gold but modest hardware, captured in various lighting during a winter photo session. You can see how differently the wood grain (revealed during a special waxing and oiling process) will be visible in different lighting conditions. The snare drum features our classic American maple, 5mm thick. It has been treated with 4 layers of high-solid gloss wax and our proprietary polish. This gives it a very characteristic subtle sheen. The arrow inlay (inlace) emphasizes the high-end quality of this snare drum. The whole set is completed with Puresound Custom 1420 springs and Evans uno coated heads specially produced for Polmuz.

The reactivated Polmuz brand snare drums bear no resemblance to their predecessors from the last century. Today Polmuz is above all bold design combined with proven and solid technologies, known from the products of the best brands.

The Polmuz Maple snare drum body gives complete freedom in shaping the sound, performing well in every music genre. The minimalist, old-school look of Polmuz drums refers to the brand's history and gives them a vintage character.

Breakthrough, unconventional designs, high quality craftsmanship and convincing sound mean that today Polmuz tradition is beginning anew!

Features

Maple Shells

The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made of 6 layers of maple, with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones ensure great versatility across many music styles. The wood's characteristics give the drums a distinctive sound that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple layers, as well as attention to shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° edge cut means they contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge in Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and the shell. The consequence of this solution is clear sound across the full frequency range.

Finish

The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on the Maple Polmuz finish is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most demanding tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and method of lacquer application corresponds to those used in top-tier sets from recognized brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" above the drum shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows everything to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each one has a long screw that is deeply seated in the lug. Additionally, each one has double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome Hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the infamous reputation of the brand from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz lettering is a guarantee and also a calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship in each drum.

Strainer

Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smoothly functioning strainer. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to adjust the sound depending on the situation.

Heads and Springs

Evans HD Dry or Evans uno heads are used in the drums. The springs used in Polmuz snare drums are proven Puresound Blaster 1420, which work excellently with almost any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare drum generates characteristic sound, free of unnecessary overtones.

Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defect in the drum set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is manufactured anew.

About the Polmuz Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.

Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
