Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defects or irregularities in the set. Every percussion element upon unpacking is subjected to meticulous inspection and checked with a keen eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product; all drum shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and additionally are waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge triggers joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of sliding your hand along the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect shell tone. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly turning screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is manufactured anew.

Features

Maple Shells

The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made of 6 plies of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The wood's characteristics give the drums a distinctive sound that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the shells was achieved through carefully selected maple plies and a focus on shell formation and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° edge cut allows them to contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge in Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The consequence of this solution is clear tone across the full frequency range. The rounded edge in Polmuz snares generates fast attack, balanced resonance, and above all - a unique, slightly vintage sound.

Finish

The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive tone. The lacquer used on the Maple series Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. The stunning, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to those used in top sets by recognized brands.

Tube Lug

The Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" above the drum shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire structure to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drum detuning, each features a long screw that is deeply seated in the lug. Additionally, each has dual protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome Hardware

In Polmuz drums all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass, the chrome Polmuz lettering is a guarantee and trademark of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.

Snare Mechanism

Polmuz snares are equipped with a smoothly operating snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the sound depending on the situation.

Heads and Springs

The drums feature coated, single-ply batter heads of high quality under the Polmuz branding. The springs used in Polmuz snares are proven components with 20 coils that work perfectly with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare generates a characteristic sound, free of unnecessary overtones. The distinctive red spring stripe is enhanced with a traditional white Polmuz logo.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing Poland's first drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at Grochowska 75/77 Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion instruments and brass instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they disappeared completely from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialized percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.

Today Polmuz represents high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that are not inferior to the best competing products. Bold design combined with proven solutions have made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
