Quality and Professionalism
Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Each percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection upon unpacking and checked with an attentive, expert eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product; all shell edges must be perfectly even and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge unleashes joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than screws turning smoothly into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual elements of the set receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. In the event of a defect or irregularity, the shell is manufactured anew.
Features
Maple Shells
The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made of 6 layers of maple, with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced midrange and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The specifics of the wood give the drums a characteristic sound that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple layers, as well as focus on shell forming and edge shape.
Edges
The 45° edge cut ensures they make contact with the head at the optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and shell. The consequence of this solution is clean sound across the full frequency range.
Finish
The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive sound. The lacquer used for the finish of Maple Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe was created along its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to those used in top sets of renowned brands.
Tube Lug
Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" above the drum shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire drum to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each has a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each has double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.
Chrome Hardware
All hardware in Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship in each drum.
Snares
The Polmuz snare drums are equipped with smoothly operating snares. The ability to adjust the spring tension allows you to customize the sound depending on the situation.
Heads and Springs
The drums use Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO heads. The springs used in Polmuz snare drums are the proven Puresound Blaster 1420, which work perfectly with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare drum generates a characteristic sound, free from unnecessary overtones.

About the Brand
Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at Grochowska Street 75/77 in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion mallets and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.
Today Polmuz is a high-quality percussion set and ethnic instruments that in no way differ from the best products of competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions caused Polmuz to storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
