QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Each percussion element after unpacking is subjected to meticulous inspection and checked with careful, expert eyes. We strive to establish Polmuz in consciousness as a premium product - all edges of the drum shells must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive individual stickers with serial numbers, dates and handwritten signatures confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is found, the shell is manufactured again.

Features

100% maple shells

The shells of snare drums from the Maple series are made of 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority when designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The specifics of the wood give the drums a distinctive sound that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clean sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple layers, as well as focus on shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

A 45-degree angle cut on the edges means they contact the head at an optimal point. Each edge in Polmuz drums has been carefully sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The consequence of this solution is a clean sound across the full frequency range. The rounded edge in Polmuz snare drums generates fast attack, balanced resonance, and above all - a unique, slightly vintage sound.

Finish

The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive sound. The lacquer used for the finish of Maple series Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. The stunning, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most demanding tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to those used in top-tier sets of recognized brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug hardware is characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounting brackets, but the lug body "floats" above the drum shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire drum to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each one features a long screw that seats deeply in the lug. Additionally, each one has double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome-plated hardware

In Polmuz drums all hardware is finished with a chrome-plated coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of the highest quality of materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz drum shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and also a calling card of the highest level of craftsmanship of each drum.

Snare Mechanism

Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smoothly operating snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the sound depending on the situation.

Heads and Springs

Polmuz drums use coated, 1-ply batter heads of high quality branded Polmuz. The springs used in Polmuz snare drums are proven 20-coil elements that work excellently with almost every resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare drum generates a characteristic sound, free from unnecessary overtones. The distinctive red spring stripe has been enhanced with the traditional white Polmuz logo.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing Poland's first drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factories were located at Grochowska Street 75/77 in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s and subsequently disappeared completely from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialized percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz produces high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best competition products. Bold design combined with proven solutions have made Polmuz storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also win over those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
