Quality and Professionalism

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defects or irregularities in the set. Each percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection upon unpacking and checked with a keen, expert eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product; all drum shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual elements of the set receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If any defect or irregularity is found, the shell is made anew.

Features

Maple Shells

The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made from 6 plies of maple, with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The specificity of the wood gives the drums a characteristic sound that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple plies, as well as focusing on shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° edge cut ensures they contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and shell. The consequence of this solution is pure tone across the full frequency range.

Finish

The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on the finish of Maple Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe was created around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to those used in top-tier sets from recognized brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire shell to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drum detuning, each lug features a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Furthermore, each is equipped with double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome Hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives the impression of the highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unsavory reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and trademark of the highest level of craftsmanship in each drum.

Snare Mechanism

Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smooth-functioning snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize the sound depending on the situation.

Heads and Springs

The drums feature Evans HD Dry or Evans Uno heads. The springs used in Polmuz snare drums are proven Puresound Super 30, which work excellently with virtually any resonant head. With them, the snare drum generates characteristic sound, free from unnecessary buzzing.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand that produced the first Polish drums, known to every drummer. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factory was located at Grochowska 75/77 Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist drum shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by purchasing complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz is a high-quality percussion set and ethnic instruments, in no way inferior to the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
