Features
100% Maple shells
The snare drum shells from the Maple series are made from 6 plies of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many music styles. The specific nature of the wood imparts a characteristic sound to the drums that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the shells was achieved through the careful selection of maple layers and focus on shell forming and edge shaping.
Edges
The 45° edge bevel ensures they contact the head at the optimal point. Every edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The consequence of this solution is clean sound across the full frequency range. The rounded edge on Polmuz snares generates fast attack, balanced resonance, and most importantly - a unique, slightly vintage sound.
Finish
The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on the Maple Polmuz finish is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to those used in top sets by recognized brands.
Tube Lug
Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire drum to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each one has a long bolt that seats deeply in the lug. Additionally, each lug has double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.
Chrome Hardware
All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with chrome plating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of the highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and trademark of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.
Snare Mechanism
Polmuz snares are equipped with a smooth-acting snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows for sound customization depending on the situation.
Heads and Springs
The drums feature coated, 1-ply high-quality batter heads bearing the Polmuz branding. The snare wires used in Polmuz snares are proven 20-coil elements that work perfectly with virtually any resonant head. Through them the snare produces a characteristic sound free of unnecessary overtones. The distinctive red snare wire strap is enhanced with the traditional Polmuz white logo.
Quality and Professionalism
Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defect in the drum set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is manufactured anew.
About the Polmuz Brand
Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.
Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
