QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defects or irregularities in the set. Each percussion element is subjected to careful inspection upon unpacking and checked with a discerning, meticulous eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and additionally are waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is inspected because there's nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual set components receive an individual sticker with serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is remade.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after successfully passing testing, receives a lifetime warranty and the hardware used in Polmuz drums receives a 3-year warranty.

FEATURES

100% Maple Shells

The Maple series shells are made from 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones ensure great versatility across many music styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells were achieved through careful selection of maple layers and focus on shell formation and edge shaping.

Edges

The 45° beveled edges create contact with the head at the optimal point on the flat surface, making tuning incredibly simple.

Many modern companies bevel edges so the head contact falls on the head's curve. This makes tuning very difficult, especially on what's called a "rag" tuning style.

Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring ideal head-to-shell contact. The result is clean tone across the full frequency range. Sharp contact edge finishing provides fast attack, selective definition and articulate sustain.

Finish

The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and unconventional tone. The lacquer used for the Maple Polmuz finish is of the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction looks like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire shell to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each one has a long screw that seats deeply in the lug.

Chrome Hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks away from the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and trademark of the highest level of craftsmanship in each drum.

Mounting System

A non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined construction makes it easy to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, aluminum parts ensure lighter weight.

Center Stand Hooks

The hooks on Polmuz stands are equipped with rubber pads that help protect wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, the hooks and hoops form one cohesive unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

Polmuz or Remo Encore heads are used in the drums, Evans available for a surcharge.

Tom TT and FT resonant membranes are thin Polmuz Clear. The center resonant head is excellent Polmuz fiberskin tone head.

Center membranes additionally feature a wide dampening collar. Resonant heads are distinguished by their characteristic vintage-style head with prominent Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - the legendary brand that produced Poland's first drums, known to every drummer. The company was founded in the 1960s, with its facilities located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.

Today Polmuz represents high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best competing products. Bold design combined with proven solutions have allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
