QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Each percussion element is subjected to careful inspection upon unpacking and checked with a discerning, lutier's eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge releases joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than screws screwing smoothly into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual elements of the set receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is made again.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after passing the test successfully, receives a lifetime warranty and the hardware used in Polmuz drums receives a 3-year warranty.

FEATURES

100% maple shells

The Maple series shells are made from 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced midrange and treble frequencies provide great versatility across many musical styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple plies and focus on shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° edge bevel means they contact the head at an optimal point on the flat surface making tuning incredibly simple.

Many modern companies bevel the edge so the contact with the head lands on the head's roundover. This makes tuning particularly difficult on so-called "rag" tuning.

Each edge on Polmuz brand drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring optimal contact between the head and shell. The consequence of this solution is clean sound across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edge finish provides quick attack, selective, expressive resonance.

Finish

The matte finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and unconventional sound. The lacquer used on Maple series Polmuz drums is of the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug style lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows everything to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each features a long screw that sits deep in the lug.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unsavory reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship in each drum.

Mounting system

A non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined design makes it easier to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum ensure lighter weight.

Center hooks

The hooks on Polmuz set stands are equipped with rubber pads that help protect their wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, hooks and hoops form one cohesive unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

Polmuz or Remo Encore hammered heads are used in drums, Evans available for additional charge.

TT and FT resonant heads are thin Polmuz Clear. Resonant on center is an excellent sounding Polmuz fiberskin.

Center heads additionally feature a wide damping collar. The resonant heads, meanwhile, feature a distinctive vintage-style head with a prominent Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing Poland's first drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at Grochowska 75/77 Street in Warsaw. In addition to Polmuz drums, the company also produced cymbals and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, and then completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.

Today Polmuz is a high-quality percussion set and ethnic instruments line, matching the best products of competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz capture not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
