QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defects or irregularities in the set. Each percussion element upon unpacking is subject to meticulous inspection and checked with a keen, luthier's eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product – all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand over the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there's nothing more pleasant than screws turning smoothly into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual set elements receive a personalized sticker with a serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is discovered, the shell is made again.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after passing the test successfully, receives a lifetime warranty and the hardware used in Polmuz drums receives a 3-year warranty.

FEATURES

100% maple shells

The Maple series shells are made from 6 plies of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones ensure great versatility across many musical styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple plies as well as focus on shell formation and edge shaping.

Edges

The 45° bevel edge means they contact the membrane at the optimal point on a flat surface, making tuning incredibly simple.

Many modern manufacturers bevel the edge so that the membrane contact falls on the head curve. This makes tuning very difficult, especially on so-called "rag heads"

Each edge in Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect membrane-to-shell contact. The result is clear sound across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edge finish gives quick attack and selective, expressive sustain.

Finish

The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive sound. The lacquer used for finishing Maple series Polmuz drums is of the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug style lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "lifts" over the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows everything to resonate across the full sound range. To minimize the risk of drum detuning, each contains a long screw that is deeply seated in the lug.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials and breaks away from the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. Cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship of each drum.

Mounting system

A non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined design makes it easier to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made of aluminum provide reduced weight.

Center hooks

The hooks in Polmuz set stands are equipped with rubber pads that help protect their wooden rims from damage. In this arrangement, hooks and rims form one cohesive unit, so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

The drums use Polmuz or Remo Encore struck heads, with Evans available for an additional charge.

Thin Polmuz Clear heads are used for TT and FT resonant membranes. The central resonant head is an excellent sounding Polmuz fiberskin.

The membranes in the stands also feature a wide damping collar. The resonant heads, on the other hand, are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a distinctive Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factories were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s and then completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialized percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz represents high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best competition products. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
