QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually. This means there can be no compromise on quality or defects in the set. Every element of the drum kit undergoes meticulous inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a keen, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product. All shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head—not to mention the ease of tuning and the perfect sound of the shell. All drum hardware is also checked, because nothing is more pleasant than screws turning smoothly into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, each component of the set receives an individual sticker with a serial number, date, and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If any defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is remade.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after passing the test, receives a lifetime warranty, and the hardware used in Polmuz drums receives a 3-year warranty.

FEATURES

100% maple shells

The Maple series shells are made from 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced midrange and high tones ensure great versatility across many musical styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells are achieved through carefully selected maple plies and a focus on shell formation and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° bearing edge ensures optimal contact with the head on the flat surface, making tuning incredibly simple.

Many modern manufacturers cut the edge so it contacts the head on the head's curve, which greatly complicates tuning, especially on so-called "rags"

Every edge on Polmuz drums has been ground smooth and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is clean sound across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edge finish delivers fast attack and selective, expressive sustain.

Finish

The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on Maple series Polmuz drums is of the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" above the drum to minimize contact with the shell. This allows the entire drum to resonate across its full frequency range. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each lug features a long screw that sits deep within it.

Chrome hardware

All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship in every drum.

Mounting system

A non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined design makes it easier to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum ensure reduced weight.

Center Lugs

The lugs on Polmuz sets are equipped with rubber pads that help protect wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, lugs and hoops form one cohesive unit, so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

Polmuz or Remo Encore heads are used on the drums, Evans available for an additional fee.

TT and FT resonant heads are thin Polmuz Clear. Reso on the center is excellent emitting Polmuz fiberskin.

Center heads additionally feature a wide muffling collar. Resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a clear Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factories were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they disappeared from the market entirely. In 2018, the team of the specialized drum shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.

Today Polmuz offers high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products on the market. Bold design combined with proven solutions means that Polmuz is storming not only the Polish drum market but also winning the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
