QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defects in the set. Every percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection after unpacking and checked with careful, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product. All shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge releases joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of drum tuning and the perfect shell sound. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there's nothing more pleasant than screws turning smoothly into perfectly fitted lugs. After such solid quality control, individual set elements receive an individual sticker with serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming high drum quality. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is remade.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after successfully passing the test, receives a lifetime warranty and the hardware used in Polmuz drums receives a 3-year warranty.

FEATURES

100% maple shells

The Maple series shells are made of 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority when designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced midrange and treble ensure great versatility in many music styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells were achieved through careful selection of maple layers and focus on shell formation and edge shape.

Edges

Beveling the edges at a 45° angle means they contact the head at the optimal point on the flat surface, making tuning straightforward.

Many modern companies bevel the edge so contact with the head falls on the head's curve. This makes tuning very difficult, especially on what's known as "rag" tuning

Each edge in Polmuz brand drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring ideal head-to-shell contact. The consequence of such a solution is clean sound across the full frequency range. Sharp contact edge finish results in quick attack, selective and expressive resonance.

Finish

The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and unconventional sound. The lacquer used for Maple Polmuz drum finishing is the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" over the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows everything to resonate across the full sound range. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each contains a long screw that seats deep in the lug.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's notorious reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz lettering is a guarantee and calling card of the highest execution level of every drum.

Mounting system

A mounting system that doesn't interfere with the shells ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined construction makes it easy to position toms close together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum ensure lower weight.

Center hooks

The hooks on Polmuz set suspension units are equipped with rubber pads that help protect their wooden rims from damage. In this arrangement, hooks and rims form one cohesive unit, so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

The drums use Polmuz or Remo Encore heads, Evans available for an additional fee.

TT and FT resonant membranes are thin Polmuz Clear. The resonant head on suspension is an excellent Polmuz fiberskin head.

Suspension membranes additionally have a wide damping collar. Resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a distinctive Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at Grochowska Street 75/77 in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, and then completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, a team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing all rights to its name.

Today Polmuz is high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments, no different from the best competitors' products. Bold design combined with proven solutions have made Polmuz storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
