QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defect or irregularity in the set. Each percussion element upon unpacking is subjected to careful inspection and checked with a keen, lutier's eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge releases joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual set elements receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. In case of detecting a defect or irregularity, the shell is remade.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after passing the test successfully, receives a lifetime warranty and the hardware used in Polmuz drums receives a 3-year warranty.

FEATURES

100% maple shells

The Maple series shells are made from 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority when designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many music styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells were achieved through the use of carefully selected layers of maple, as well as focus on shell forming and edge shaping.

Edges

The 45° edge cut ensures that they contact the membrane at the optimal point on the flat surface, making tuning simplicity itself.

Many modern companies cut the edge so that contact with the membrane falls on the rounded bearing edge. This makes tuning very difficult, especially on so-called "rag" heads

Each edge in Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring optimal contact between the membrane and shell. The consequence of this solution is clean sound across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edge finish provides quick attack, selective and expressive sustain.

Finish

The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and unconventional sound. The lacquer used for the finish of Maple Polmuz drums is of the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction means they look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire structure to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums losing tuning, each has a long screw that sits deep in the lug.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the notorious reputation of the brand from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz name is a guarantee and signature of the highest level of craftsmanship of each drum.

Mounting system

A non-intrusive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined construction makes it easier to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum ensure less weight.

Center hooks

The hooks in the center stands of Polmuz sets are equipped with rubber washers that help protect their wooden rims from damage. In this arrangement, hooks and rims form one cohesive unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

The drums use Polmuz or Remo Encore heads, Evans available for an additional charge.

TT and FT resonant membrane are thin Polmuz Clear. Reso on center is an excellent Polmuz fiberskin head.

Center membranes additionally feature a wide damping collar. The resonant heads, on the other hand, are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a distinctive Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing Poland's first drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factories were located at Grochowska 75/77 street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.

Today Polmuz represents high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments, in no way inferior to the best products of competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions mean that Polmuz is storming not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
