Features
Maple Corps
The snare drum corps from the Maple series are made from 6 plies of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones ensure great versatility across many musical styles. The wood's character imparts a distinctive sound you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the corps was achieved through careful selection of maple plies and focus on corps forming and edge shaping.
Edges
The 45° edge bevel ensures optimal contact with the head. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring ideal head-to-corps contact. The result is clean sound across the full frequency range.
Finish
The lacquer finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on Polmuz Maple drums is of the highest quality. The gorgeous matte, clear lacquer will impress even the most demanding tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe was created around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The lacquer composition and application method corresponds to those used in top-tier sets from renowned brands.
Tube Lug
Tube Lug-type lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug corps "floats" above the drum shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire unit to resonate across the full sound range. To minimize the risk of drum detuning, each one features a long screw that seats deeply in the lug. Additionally, each lug has double protection with metal and nylon washers, ensuring tuning stability.
Chrome Hardware
In Polmuz drums all hardware is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful look gives a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz corps is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz inscription is a guarantee and hallmark of the highest level of craftsmanship of each drum.
Strainer
Polmuz snare drums are equipped with a smooth-functioning strainer. The ability to adjust spring tension allows sound adjustment depending on the situation.
Heads and Springs
Polmuz drums feature Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO heads. The springs used in Polmuz snares are proven Puresound Blaster 1420, which work perfectly with almost any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare generates a characteristic sound, free from unnecessary overtones.
Quality and Professionalism
Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no compromise or defect in the drum set. Each percussion element undergoes careful inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a discerning, professional eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product - all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect sound of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive a sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. Should any defect or irregularity be found, the shell is manufactured anew.
About the Polmuz Brand
Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion accessories and wind instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to revive the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.
Today, Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
