Quality and Professionalism
Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no question of any defects or irregularities in the set. Each percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection upon unpacking and checked by a keen, experienced eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product; all drum shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer feeling of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before installing new heads, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect resonance of the shell. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly screwing bolts into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual elements of the set receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is manufactured anew.
Features
Maple Bodies
The snare drum bodies from the Maple series are made from 6 plies of maple with a total thickness of 4.8 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The specific nature of the wood gives the drums a distinctive sound that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and clear sound of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple plies and attention to shell shaping and edge profile.
Edges
The 45° beveled edge ensures optimal contact with the head. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is clear tone across the full frequency range.
Finish
The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive tone. The lacquer used on the Maple Polmuz finish is the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will impress even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been created along its entire circumference using inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to those used in the top sets of recognized brands.
Tube Lug
Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire structure to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each one features a long bolt that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each has dual protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.
Chrome Hardware
On Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives the impression of the highest quality materials used and breaks with the unfortunate reputation of the brand from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made of solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and trademark of the highest level of craftsmanship in each drum.
Snare Wire
Polmuz snares are equipped with a smooth-acting snare mechanism. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to fine-tune the sound depending on the situation.
Heads and Springs
The drums feature Evans HD Dry or Evans UNO heads. The springs used in Polmuz snares are proven Puresound Blaster 1420, which work excellently with almost any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare generates a characteristic sound, free from unwanted overtones.

About the Brand
Polmuz - a legendary brand producing Poland's first drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its factories were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion mallets and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to the name.
Today Polmuz produces high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
