QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the top series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defects or irregularities in the set. Each percussion element upon unpacking is subjected to meticulous inspection and checked with a keen, craftsmanship eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product – all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect shell resonance. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there's nothing more pleasant than screws turning smoothly into perfectly fitting lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual elements of the set receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date and handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is found, the shell is manufactured anew.

WARRANTY

Each Polmuz shell, after passing the test, receives a lifetime warranty and the hardware used in Polmuz drums receives a 3-year warranty.

FEATURES

100% maple shells

The Maple series shells are made of 6 layers of maple with a total thickness of 5 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility in many musical styles. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the shells was achieved through the use of carefully selected maple layers, as well as focus on shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° angle edge bevel allows them to contact the head at the optimal point on the flat surface, making tuning incredibly simple.

Many modern companies bevel the edge so that contact with the head falls on the head's rounded bearing. This makes tuning particularly difficult on so-called "cloth" tuning.

Each edge in Polmuz brand drums has been ground smooth and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and shell. The consequence of this solution is clear tone across the full frequency range. Sharp edge finish at the contact point means fast attack, selective articulation and precise sustain.

Finish

The matte finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive tone. The lacquer used for finishing Maple Polmuz drums is of the highest quality.

Tube Lug

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" above the drum shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire drum to resonate across the full range of tones. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each features a long screw that sits deep in the lug.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's notorious reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz name is a guarantee and signature of highest quality craftsmanship in every drum.

Mounting system

A non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined design makes it easier to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum provide reduced weight.

Center lugs

The lugs in Polmuz set centers are equipped with rubber pads that help protect their wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, lugs and hoops form one cohesive unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

The drums use Polmuz or Remo Encore struck heads, Evans available for an additional fee.

Resonant TT and FT membranes are thin Polmuz Clear. Center resonant is excellent sounding Polmuz fiberskin.

The center membranes additionally have a wide muting collar. The resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a distinctive Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.

Today Polmuz is high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best competition products. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
