100% Tulipwood Shells

The shells of the Tulipwood series are made from 6 layers of American tulipwood, with a total thickness of 6.9 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. The specificity of tulipwood gives the drums a characteristic sound that you won't experience in any other drums. The focused and pure sound of the shells is achieved through the use of carefully selected layers of tulipwood, as well as attention to shell forming and edge shaping.

Edges

The 45° angle cut on the edges ensures they contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been carefully sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is pure sound across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edge finish on toms delivers fast attack and short decay, while a rounded bearing edge on bass drums generates unique and warm vintage sound.

Finish

The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each kit a unique appearance and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on Polmuz Tulipwood drums is of the highest quality. The stunning white color with red sparkle stripes will captivate even the most demanding tastes. Tube Lug

The Tube Lug mounting system is characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug shell "floats" above the drum shell, so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire kit to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each features a long screw that is seated deep in the lug. Additionally, each lug features double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - that guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome-plated Hardware

All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality of materials used and breaks with the brand's notorious reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Mounting System

Bass Drum Spurs

The spurs on Polmuz drum sets are equipped with rubber pads that help protect the wooden hoops from damage. In this setup, the spurs and hoops form a single, cohesive unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

The drums are equipped with coated, single-ply struck heads of high quality branded with Polmuz.

The batter heads also feature a wide damping collar. The resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a distinctive Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand that produced the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion and brass instruments. The last drums were manufactured in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist percussion store DrumStore from Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by acquiring full rights to its name.

Today, Polmuz represents high-quality drum kits and ethnic instruments that match the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions has made Polmuz rapidly gain not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
