100% walnut shells

The shells of the Walnut series are made of 7 layers of walnut with a total thickness of 5.4 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced mid and high tones ensure great versatility in many music styles. Full, low tones while maintaining focused and clean shell sound were achieved through carefully selected walnut layers, as well as focus on shell shaping and edge design.

Edges

The 45° beveled edges ensure they contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge in Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The consequence of this solution is clean sound across the full frequency range. Sharp edge finish on tom bearing edges provides quick attack and short sustain, while the rounded edge on bass drums generates unique and warm vintage sound.

Finish

The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on the Walnut series Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. The stunning, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The lacquer composition and application method correspond to those used on top-tier sets from renowned brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lug lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire structure to resonate across the full sound spectrum. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each features a long screw that seats deeply into the lug. Additionally, each lug has double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome-plated hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with chrome plating. The beautiful appearance gives a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. Cast logos on Polmuz shells are a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass, the chrome-plated Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and trademark of the highest level of execution on every drum.

Mounting system

A non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined construction makes it easier to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum ensure lighter weight.

Bass drum claws

The claws in Polmuz drum sets are equipped with rubber washers that help protect their wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, the claws and hoops form one cohesive unit so they don't separate or rattle, even with loose tuning.

Heads

The drums feature coated, 1-ply high-quality heads branded with Polmuz.

Bass drum heads additionally have a wide dampening collar. The resonant heads are distinguished by a characteristic vintage-style head with a distinct Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing Poland's first drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, with its factory located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion mallets and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialized percussion shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by acquiring complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz represents high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions have made Polmuz a storming success not only on the Polish percussion market, but also in the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
