FEATURES

100% walnut shells

The Walnut series shells are made from 7 layers of walnut with a total thickness of 5.4 mm. Sound was the highest priority when designing Polmuz drums. Balanced midrange and treble ensure great versatility across many musical styles. Full, deep tone while maintaining a focused and clear shell sound was achieved through the use of carefully selected walnut layers, as well as attention to shell formation and edge shape.

Bearing Edges

The 45° bevel on the bearing edges means they contact the head at the optimal point. Each bearing edge on Polmuz drums has been carefully sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect head-to-shell contact. The result is clear tone across the full frequency range. Sharp bearing edges on toms deliver quick attack and short decay, while the rounded edge on the bass drum generates unique and warm vintage tone.

Finish

The lacquer finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on the Walnut series by Polmuz is of the highest quality. The stunning, matte, clear lacquer will delight even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around the entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer correspond to those used in top-tier sets from renowned brands.

Tube Lugs

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire drum to resonate across the full sound range. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each features a long screw that sits deep in the lug. Additionally, each lug has double security in the form of washers - metal and nylon - guaranteeing tuning stability.

Chrome Hardware

All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Made from solid brass and chrome-plated, the Polmuz nameplate is a guarantee and signature of the highest standard of craftsmanship on every drum.

Mounting System

The non-invasive mounting system ensures maximum resonance and stability regardless of conditions. The streamlined construction makes it easy to position toms closer together, providing greater freedom and comfort. Additionally, parts made from aluminum keep weight to a minimum.

Bass Drum Spurs

The spurs on Polmuz sets are equipped with rubber pads that help protect the wooden hoops from damage. In this arrangement, the spurs and hoops form one cohesive unit, preventing separation or rattling, even with loose tuning.

Heads

The drums feature coated, single-ply heads of high quality bearing the Polmuz branding.

The batter heads additionally feature a wide damping collar. The resonant heads stand out with their characteristic vintage-style head featuring a distinctive Polmuz logo.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing Poland's first drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, with its factory located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team from the specialist drum shop DrumStore in Gdynia decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz produces high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best competition products. Bold design combined with proven solutions have made Polmuz rapidly conquering not only the Polish percussion market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
