QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series from leading manufacturers, is treated individually, meaning there can be no question of any defects or irregularities. Each drum component undergoes meticulous inspection upon unpacking and is checked with a keen, expert eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product—all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we well know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting new heads—not to mention the ease of tuning and the perfect tone of the shell. All drum hardware is also checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly turning screws into perfectly fitted lugs. Following such thorough quality control, individual set components receive a sticker with serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the drum's high quality. If any defect or irregularity is discovered, the shell is completely remade.

Features

100% walnut shells

The snare drum shells from the Walnut series are made from 7 layers of walnut with a combined thickness of 5.4 mm. Sound was the highest priority when designing Polmuz drums. Balanced mid and high tones ensure great versatility across many musical styles. Full, low-end tone while maintaining focused and clear shell sound was achieved through the careful selection of walnut plies and a focus on shell formation and bearing edge shape.

Bearing Edge

A 45° bearing edge angle ensures optimal contact with the head. Each bearing edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring ideal head-to-shell contact. The result is clear tone across the full frequency range. The rounded bearing edge on Polmuz snares generates quick attack, balanced resonance, and above all—a unique, slightly vintage tone.

Finish

The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive tone. The lacquer used on Walnut Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. The stunning, transparent red lacquer will please even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative inlay stripe has been applied around its entire circumference. The composition and application method of the lacquer corresponds to that used on top-tier sets from recognized brands.

Tube Lug

Tube lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug construction allows them to look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire assembly to resonate across the full range of tones. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each features a long screw that seats deeply in the lug. Additionally, each is secured with double protection in the form of washers—metal and nylon—which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome Hardware

All hardware on Polmuz drums is finished with a chrome plating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Strainer

Polmuz snares are equipped with a smoothly functioning strainer. The ability to adjust spring tension allows you to customize tone depending on the situation.

Heads and Snares

Polmuz drums feature coated, 1-ply batter heads of high quality branded Polmuz. The snares used in Polmuz snare drums are proven 20-coil components that work excellently with virtually any resonant head. They generate characteristic tone, free of unnecessary overtones. The distinctive red snare strap has been enhanced with the traditional Polmuz white logo.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing Poland's first drums, known to every drummer. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at Grochowska 75/77 in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion instruments and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team at DrumStore, a specialized drum shop from Gdynia, decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.

Today Polmuz represents high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products from the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions has allowed Polmuz to rapidly conquer not only the Polish drum market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
