QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Like the highest series of leading manufacturers, every Polmuz drum is treated individually, meaning there can be no question of any defects or irregularities. Each percussion element is carefully inspected upon unpacking and checked by a keen, expert eye. We strive for Polmuz to be recognized as a premium product—all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to provide an even greater sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and satisfaction during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of drum tuning and perfect shell tone. All drum hardware is also checked because there's nothing more pleasant than smooth-turning screws in perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components receive a unique sticker with a serial number, date, and a personal signature confirming the drum's high quality. If any defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is manufactured anew.

Features

100% walnut shells

The snare drums from the Walnut series are made from 7 layers of walnut with a total thickness of 5.4 mm. Sound was the highest priority in designing Polmuz drums. Balanced mid and high frequencies provide great versatility across many musical styles. Full, low-end tone combined with focused and clean shell sound is achieved through carefully selected walnut layers and attention to shell formation and edge shaping.

Edges

The 45° beveled edge ensures optimal contact with the head. Every edge on Polmuz drums is sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring ideal head-to-shell contact. The result is clean tone across the full frequency range. The rounded edge on Polmuz snares generates fast attack, balanced resonance, and most importantly—unique, slightly vintage tone.

Finish

The lacquered finish on Polmuz drums gives each set a unique appearance and distinctive sound. The lacquer used on Polmuz Walnut drums is of the highest quality. The gorgeous, matte, clear lacquer will impress even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been created around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and application method of the lacquer correspond to those used in top-tier sets from renowned brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire drum to resonate across the full sound range. To minimize tuning instability, each features a long screw that seats deeply in the lug. Additionally, each lug has double protection in the form of metal and nylon washers, which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome hardware

All hardware on Polmuz drums features a chrome finish. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. The cast logo on Polmuz shells is a true declaration of quality and style. Polmuz snares feature coated, single-ply batter heads of high quality. The springs on Polmuz snares are proven components with 20 coils that work excellently with virtually any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare produces characteristic tone without unnecessary overtones. The distinctive red spring strap is enhanced with Polmuz's traditional white logo.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand that produced the first Polish drums, known to every percussionist. The company was founded in the 1960s, with its factories located at Grochowska 75/77 Street in Warsaw. Besides drums, Polmuz also produced percussion mallets and wind instruments. The last drums were produced in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team at DrumStore, a specialized drum shop from Gdynia, decided to reactivate the Polmuz brand by purchasing full rights to its name.

Today, Polmuz represents high-quality drum sets and ethnic instruments that match the best products from competitors. Bold design combined with proven solutions has helped Polmuz rapidly conquer not only the Polish drum market, but also the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
