QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM

Polmuz, like the highest series of leading manufacturers, is treated individually, which means there can be no question of any defects or irregularities in the drum. Every percussion element is subjected to meticulous inspection after unpacking and checked with a keen, luthier's eye. We strive for Polmuz to be remembered as a premium product; all shell edges must be perfectly straight and smooth, and are additionally waxed to achieve an even richer sense of professionalism and comfort. As we know well, a perfectly smooth edge brings joy and happiness during the traditional ritual of running your hand along the edge before fitting a new head, not to mention the ease of tuning the drum and the perfect shell sound. Additionally, all drum hardware is checked because there is nothing more pleasant than smoothly threading screws into perfectly fitted lugs. After such thorough quality control, individual components of the set receive an individual sticker with a serial number, date, and a handwritten signature confirming the high quality of the drum. If a defect or irregularity is detected, the shell is manufactured anew.

Features

100% walnut shells

The snare shells from the Walnut series are made of 7 layers of walnut with a total thickness of 5.4 mm. The highest priority in designing Polmuz drums was sound. Balanced midrange and high tones provide great versatility across many musical styles. Full, deep tone while maintaining a focused and clear shell sound was achieved through the use of carefully selected walnut layers, as well as focus on shell forming and edge shape.

Edges

The 45° bevel on the edges means they contact the head at the optimal point. Each edge on Polmuz drums has been sanded and additionally waxed, ensuring perfect contact between the head and shell. This results in clear tone across the full frequency range. The rounded edge on Polmuz snares generates a fast attack, balanced resonance, and most importantly - a unique, slightly vintage sound.

Finish

The lacquered finish of Polmuz drums gives each set a unique look and unconventional tone. The lacquer used for the finish of Walnut Polmuz drums is of the highest quality. The stunning transparent red lacquer will impress even the most discerning tastes. To emphasize the uniqueness of this model, a decorative stripe has been applied around its entire circumference using the inlay method. The composition and method of lacquer application corresponds to those used in top-tier sets from renowned brands.

Tube Lug

Tube Lugs are characteristic of all Polmuz drums. The unique Tube Lug design makes them look like traditional mounts, but the lug body "floats" above the shell so as to minimize contact with the drum. This allows the entire shell to resonate across the full range of sounds. To minimize the risk of drums going out of tune, each lug features a long screw that sits deeply in the lug. Additionally, each has double protection in the form of washers - metal and nylon - which guarantee tuning stability.

Chrome hardware

In Polmuz drums, all hardware is finished with a chrome coating. The beautiful appearance conveys a sense of highest quality materials used and breaks with the brand's unfortunate reputation from years past. Polmuz drums feature coated, 1-ply high-quality batter heads bearing the Polmuz branding. The snares used in Polmuz snares are proven elements with 20 turns that work perfectly with almost any resonant head. Thanks to them, the snare generates characteristic tone, free from unnecessary overtones. The distinctive red snare strap is enhanced with the traditional white Polmuz logo.

About the Brand

Polmuz - a legendary brand producing Poland's first drums, known to every drummer. The company was founded in the 1960s, and its facilities were located at 75/77 Grochowska Street in Warsaw. In addition to drums, Polmuz also produced percussion and wind instruments. The last drums were made in the late 1990s, after which they completely disappeared from the market. In 2018, the team of the specialist drum shop DrumStore from Gdynia decided to revitalize the Polmuz brand by acquiring complete rights to its name.

Today Polmuz produces high-quality percussion sets and ethnic instruments that are in no way inferior to the best products of the competition. Bold design combined with proven solutions have made Polmuz storm not only the Polish percussion market, but also win the hearts of those who remember their first Polmuz drums.
